CBRE Finds Hartz Mountain a Buyer in Virginia

 

Members of CBRE Inc.'s New York Institutional Group represented Hartz Mountain Industries Inc. on the $47 million office sale in the Meadowlands, according to an article just posted by the Record of Bergen County.

The 100 Plaza Drive property in Secaucus was developed by Hartz 32 years ago, according to the report, and is 90% leased and anchored by tenants including NBA Entertainment and Scholastic.

The sale follows the June purchase of 200 Plaza Drive in Harmon Meadow by Gaia Real Estate for $56 million.

Norfolk, Va.-based real estate investment firm Harbor Group International bought the 265,000-square-foot building.

It's a hometown deal for Hartz Mountain--the company's headquarters is on Plaza Drive, too, although the owner of more than 200 office properties does some of its management work via the Hartz Group Inc. office in midtown Manhattan.

The NYC CBRE executives who found the buy are Jeffrey Dunne, Kevin Welsh and Brian Schulz, according to the article.
