Nordstrom is getting its first outlet in Queens.
The Seattle retailer announced today that it will open its off-price Nordstrom Rack at the Shops at SkyView Center, a 700,000-square-foot Flushing mall on College Point Boulevard.
The two-level, 39,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in the fall.
The developer for the project is Onex Real Estate Partners, a decade-old unit of Onex, which is a diversified private equity investment firm that trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The store will be the sixth Nordstrom Rack in the area--after Union Square; the Bergen Town Center in Paramus, N.J.; the Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City; a White Plains, N.Y., store; and a Fulton St., Brooklyn store, which is expected to open this spring. Nordstrom says it plans to add a seventh store, also in Brooklyn, this fall.
